HackYeah 2026: Cloud Security & CloudLookout
The Experience
At Europe's largest stationary hackathon, HackYeah 2026, held at the massive TAURON Arena in Kraków (3–4 October 2026), I participated in an intense 24-hour coding marathon. Teaming up with Dawid Wojda as "404 Not Found Yet", we decided to tackle one of the most critical challenges modern engineering teams face today: Cloud Security and DevSecOps.
Over the course of 24 sleepless hours, we designed, architected, and coded a working security tool from the ground up, navigating rapid prototyping, technical hurdles, and intense competition.
The energy at TAURON Arena was incredible, with hundreds of teams and thousands of developers pushing their limits non-stop through the night.
The Solution: CloudLookout ☁️🛡️
Cloud environments are dynamic and fast-moving, but configuration drift and human errors frequently expose infrastructure to critical vulnerabilities. We built CloudLookout to empower DevOps teams to detect and remediate misconfigurations in AWS environments before they turn into real-world threats.
Proactive Detection
Continuously audits AWS infrastructure against cloud security best practices, highlighting open security groups, permissive IAM roles, unencrypted storage, and public resources.
Actionable Remediation
Instead of overwhelming engineers with noisy alerts, CloudLookout delivers prioritized, clear remediation steps and automated guidance so DevOps teams can patch issues immediately.

Scoring Results & Category Performance
In the highly competitive Defence category, CloudLookout received strong recognition from the hackathon jury:
Score: Nearly 7 / 10 in Defence
HackYeah 2026 Jury EvaluationOur project scored nearly 7 out of 10, significantly outperforming the track's 5.5 average. The jury appreciated the practical approach to real-world cloud security misconfigurations and the direct applicability of CloudLookout to DevOps workflows.
"For our first fully on-site, 24-hour coding marathon, we couldn't be happier with the result. A huge thanks to Dawid Wojda for the great collaboration and high energy throughout the night!"
